Farewell

Great is the art of beginning, but greater is the art of ending
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I announce that I cease all development and activity in the programming universe indefinitely. My career has reached the turning point I was not expecting for at least another year, leaving me highly off guard and without laid-out plans for this hobby's continuity. I have begun a 5-year residency program in Neurosurgery which is clearly not compatible, time-wise, with programming.

I gave in all my passion for developing, and you gave me back your loyalty and trust, even when I did not deserve that much. Now it is the time for payback. I release all my present and past work as Open Source software, in the hope some talented developer will continue maintaining and expanding my vision of a modern, sleek forum software. The intrinsic flexibility of MyBB is the true hidden gem of an otherwise outdated codebase; I do hope the project can continue and be updated complying to the latest coding standards.

I hereby thank Euan, kawaii, andrewjs18, Ben, Matt, Omar G., effone, Eric J., Devilshakerz, Wildcard, JordanMussi and all the other team members I have had the opportunity to work with when I was a MyBB team member. I thank Tomm M, my mentor, who inspired me to pick up coding with his piece-of-art plugins. And finally, I thank all of you MyBBoost subscribers who have helped me getting through my toughest university years economically.

Yours sincerely, Filippo

Migration from OneAll

This looks really good (and after testing it by registering for your forums it looks extremely good).

I would love to implement this in our community's forums. However I have one big concern. Currently we've been using: http://www.oneall.com/services/social-login/ and sadly it just doesn't work how I'd like it to. But I'm worried if I deactivate the current plugin, and install yours, it would force all users to remake an account (if they didn't register using their email). Is there a workaround here if this is the case?

Hi Fasko, thanks for your interest. Version 1.3 introduces a migrator from other social integration plugins: OneAll is not included at the moment, but I can add it to the to-do list. I am not at home right now, I’ll see what I can do tomorrow.

Alright, I really appreciate it

If you're able to get it working, I'll definitely be donating!

I have looked into OneAll briefly and I should be able to write down a migrator. However, I'm running out of spare time at the moment so it's unlikely I will release it soon.

Alright, thanks for the heads up. It's a shame, but I've just decided to tell all my users they have two weeks to link an email to their Steam created account. So that they don't have to recreate an account all over again. Might not be the smoothest transition, but definitely can't pass up this perfect login system

I can write down some queries for you this afternoon so you won’t need to ask your users to set an email. Thank you for your appreciations!
