BankPipe is not really equipped for physical items. Such feature would require shipping and billing informations being logged, other than a dedicated module in the ACP to keep track of purchases, waybills, etc.. I'd advise against selling physical goods with BankPipe and stick to digital.
As for newpoints as this will be a new module, can that module have a separated page where only credits packs will be added (just for better ordering) Eg newpoints_bankpipe.php
Question about gifting...can a member use the gift option as often as they wish...will the package purchase button reset after purchasing a gift so they can do it again at a later date?
Gifted payments belong to gifted users, despite the purchase recap can be seen by donors only. This model allows for donors to buy the same item indefinitely.
Note that if you copy bankpipe_subscriptions_subscription into bankpipe_subscriptions_subscription_purchased, any user can buy the same subscription over and over again. There is no limit over the amount of items an user can buy, but it's very convenient to show a different template when an user has already bought a subscription IMHO.

Yeah, I tested with a test account and I was not able re-purchase the subscription level that I am already at in order to gift it to another member. Would it be better to change templates as suggested above or should I add a subscription package title GIFT SUB that members could buy indefinitely and gift as often as they wish? (My users usually gift the same package so I would only need 1 special gift package)
Not sure if this is already added, but what about automatically superscribing a user to Bankpipe when it is purchased via Newpoints My Subscriptions plugin?
Also, turn the Checkout button -> Gift button after purchase? I think that'd be pretty useful since there's a gifting feature enabled :)

You can already turn buttons to whatever you like by editing bankpipe_subscriptions_subscription_purchased template.
As for the first request, I’m not sure I understand correctly, but Newpoints is already planned to be integrated (buy coins with real money).

Because it will mess up layouts of subscriptions and those for newpoints.
Or just a simple get request for bankpipe.php?buy=newpoints
